Diving
Diving as ever is provided by Diving World who are based around the corner at the old Sheraton Hotel. We have used them for years and look forward to returning.
Diving World pick us up from reception at 08.00 on Saturday morning and will transport our kit as well as ourselves to the Dive Centre. You will need to bring your certification, log book and a copy of your current medical. Diving is approximately €40 per day - we will post the exact amount ASAP. All the diving is from boats and you will be assigned a dive guide from Diving World. There is generally 1 guide per 8 – 10 divers.
You will need insurance to include cover for diving as well as standard coverage.
Tank, weight belt and weights are provided at Diving World, you will need to bring the following;
Mask, Snorkel, Fins and Boots.
B.C.D. and Regulator
3mm full-length wet-suit is suggested or a shorty if you do not suffer from the cold. Water temperatures will run at about 28 degrees Celsius.
A Computer is suggested although not compulsory.
Torch if you plan to night dive, they are available to hire from Diving World.
A Boat Bag makes life easy to carry your kit to and from the boat, you will be provided with a crate if you wish to leave your kit at the dive centre over night.
Lunch is available for about £5.00 which includes a good hot meal and a soft drink. Tea, coffee, water and soft drinks are available all day on board the boat for a small charge.
It is customary to tip the Dive Master and crew of the boat at the end of the week, as a guide £20.00 sterling should cover all.
Generally non divers are welcome on board (although occasionally they have been known to charge a small fee ).
